50th Anniversary Events

First Friday ArtWalk – May 4, 2018

In celebration of our 50th Anniversary, the Guild is sponsoring Lane Arts Council’s May First Friday ArtWalk. The ArtWalk is guest hosted by Ada Weeks, Eugene Symphony Guild’s 2018 Education and Social Vice President. Ada is a fashion design educator, and specializes in needlework art. She mastered silk ribbon embroidery while living in Ankara, Turkey, and also enjoys English smocking, quilting, gardening, and attending classical music performances on different continents.

The First Friday ArtWalk guided tour begins at 5:30 pm at Vistra Framing & Gallery (411 W. 4th Avenue), followed by stops at 6:00 pm at The Lincoln Gallery (309 W. 4th Avenue), 6:30 pm at The New Zone Gallery (220 W. 8th Avenue), 7:00 pm at MAVEN (271 W. 8th Avenue), and 7:30pm at Passionflower Design (128 E. Gray’s Garden Center – Saturday, May 12, 2018

Join Guild members at Gray’s Garden Center, 737 W. 6th Avenue in Eugene for an afternoon of music and celebration and don’t miss your chance to win a pair of tickets to Music in the Garden. Local musicians performing between noon and 4:00 pm include: Meg Graf and Christine Sauer, Fiddlin’ Sue Big Band, A Due (Violetta Tarpinian and Charles Carmichael) and Sonora (BJ Novitski and Charlie Cunningham). Free and open to the public.

Eugene Public Library Celebration – June 2, 2018

The public is invited to join Guild members for a celebration with music and cake in the second floor atrium at the Eugene Public Library, Saturday, June 2 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, 100 W. 10th Avenue, Eugene. Guild members will present information on the Guild’s work to support the Eugene Symphony, including Music in the Garden, the major fundraising event held June 10 this year. In addition, the Eugene-Springfield Youth Orchestra’s Ambassador Musicians will perform while patrons enjoy anniversary cake and beverages. A free drawing will be held for a pair of tickets to Music in the Garden.
